Yep, Fred's recent multi-year soaking in the historical period of the Founding has matured him up and made a better, more thoughtful person of him.
A better understanding of the history of this country, particularly the foundational history, would do all Americans equal good.
I suggest you start by checking a book on April 19th, 1775 out of your local library and find out what happened that day. Read the story you never learned in school, the real story of what your fellow Americans did on that day.
When you're done reading, see if you can answer these questions - which every American who loves his country should be able to answer:
1. When and where was the American Revolution won, according to John Adams? (Warning: The answer to this may be a shocking relevation, and change the way you view life, your neighbors, this country - and even Liberty.)
2. When and where did the Revolutionary War break out? (Hint: NOT at Lexington, not at Concord.) Every American should know the answer to this question.
3. What caused the British regulars, components of a fine, well-trained, well-disciplined army, to break and run at Concord's North Bridge, after only two minutes of musket fire by an assortment of country people who had a desire to defend their liberty?
4. What caused one of the most perceptive British generals - who was present that day, on Battle Road - to completely turn around on his previously negative and dismissive opinion of the military worth of Americans?
Fred is heavily involved in Project Appleseed, a program to wake Americans to their fast-being-forgotten history and heritage. He hopes you will join in the effort, particularly in helping get the word out to everyone you know about his program.
