REFLECTIONS ON WTC

No, the President did NOT say it, but that simple comment would have galvanized our country, made every red-bloodied man a part of the fight, dramatically increased our preparedness to meet attacks in this country, and disheartened our enemies.
It might even have topped President Reagan’s “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”
You’d have to be nuts to go up against a nation of 80 million riflemen. On the other hand, the idea makes so much sense that the liberals would howl in dismay, despite its being eminently - and you know how they love this word - when they use it - ‘sensible’.
Nevertheless, a call to arms would have been a refreshing change from ‘let gov do it’, and the odious standard advice to not resist criminals.
And maybe the UN could be persuaded to back down from requiring governments to destroy surplus ammo, and instead send it to this country, where it can be put to good use by people who are rusty, maybe, but want to get the rust out, and be riflemen again.
LIBERALS? GIVE ME A BREAK!
“Suicide Bomber” liberals: What else can you call them when they are willing to sacrifice planeloads of people on the altar of victim disarmament?
A gun in the hands of trained pilots could’ve saved entire planeloads of passengers and lots of people on the ground. Fire? You need a fire extinguisher. Flood? You need a life belt. Terrorist? You need a gun. Not a law.
Yet no liberal is going to admit that a gun can be a lifesaver [much less that he was wrong about it]. Oddly, he has no problem with the gun as long as it is in the hands of a government employee. Hire on with Uncle Sam, take the minimum required hours of training with a pistol, and any liberal will bow in reverence as you pass.
But a pilot who shoots pistol at Camp Perry or IPSC has skills superior to the average government agent. No doubt about it. And his life is important to him, you bet, so he would like to be able to use those skills to defend it. But liberals, through law and regulation, reach into that cockpit and remove that pistol, plus any stray plastic picnic knives. So that the most important potential for protecting the passengers, the ‘last-ditch’ protection, is removed, by government fiat. “Sensible”, right?
The simplest solution - arm the pilots - doesn’t appeal to liberals, because a gun in the hands of a private citizen is always bad, regardless of all the eyewash about “sensible” gun laws. What could be more ‘sensible’ than arming the pilot?
(I haven’t even mentioned the radical notion of letting gun owners carry a firearm aboard a plane. For 30+ years before the ‘60s hijackings, guns on planes were not a problem. Chances are any of you reading this can shoot better than the average government agent. With your gun on the plane, the only difference between you and the sky marshall, besides a hundred thousand of your tax dollars a year, is that he probably won’t be there when you need him - whereas, come what may, you can always count on yourself.)
THE FIRE NEXT TIME?
‘They’ - the security experts on the tube, at least some of them - keep saying that the next time the terrs strike it will be something different.
Maybe a nuclear power plant...
A stadium full of fans...
A school full of children?
Better get ready, because what better way to strike at the ‘heart of America’, especially if you select a small-town school? Would any parent feel safe if ONE school goes up? Would kids still even go to school, if one or more schools were immolated?
If the terr purpose is to goad Americans into a ‘holy war’ against Islam, a few schools ‘suicided’ might do the trick. Dead children are powerful hard to ignore.
Impossible, you say? With guns outlawed within a thousand feet of any school? Multiple federal laws broken when his foot even touches the schoolyard while he has a gun or explosives? A phalanx of federal prosecutors waiting, even eager, to prosecute him?
Is the threat of jail going to stop a suicide bomber? Heck, he’s there to kill himself, and a bunch of kids, just to strike at America. He doesn’t plan to be around for the trial. (The airline hijackers, some of them, bought their tickets with credit cards; they weren’t planning on paying the bill.)
So we’re back to the old mantra: only the law-abiding obey the laws; when guns are outlawed, only terrorists will have guns.
In the meantime, our lovely friends the liberals have worked mightily to make that school a weapons-free zone [just like they are working mightily now to make airplanes weapons-free zones]. Where even pointing fingers, or a drawing of a gun, is outlawed.
So that, once the terr penetrates to the school, past the sleeping deputy [if any] at the door, he has just about nirvana: a big, fat, dumb and happy, school full of people at his disposal (confederates at each entrance, so no one gets away. Finding more than one suicide bomber is, alas, no problem.)
Courtesy of the liberals, he’s ‘in like Flynn’, ‘home-free’ just where he wants to be, certain that, amongst all the law-abiding teachers and administrators, there’s not one gun (no doubt you don’t need a law to keep our liberal educational establishment from brining guns to school). No worries, he’s home free.
So, while you’ve been going to work, paying your taxes, maybe even voting, and being law-abiding, the liberals at your child’s school have been steadily removing any ‘last ditch’ protection against a terrorist.
If you think that ‘last ditch protection’ is not important, ask whomever is responsible for security at your child’s school - if any one knows or will admit to it - if they will guarantee that a team of suicide bombers cannot penetrate into the building. If they are stupid enough to say it is impossible, ask them how does the guarantee work when security fails: do you get your tax money back, or will they get you new replacement kids?
The Israelis have been dealing with schools and planes and terrs for over 50 years, and there’s one reason you’ll never hear a liberal suggest we find out how they handle it - because of that one word, guns. Teachers with guns, students with guns, passenger jets with armed guards - it’s enough to make the liberal break out in hives just thinking about it. That’s not what we want! We don’t want any of that ‘wild west’ stuff! And with those homilies, several thousand died on 9/11, and more are gonna die if this war lasts into the future.
The only benefit of a 9/11-type attack on a school is that, if the terrs use guns, the liberals will have their ‘holy jihad’ - the real one - for them - the exciting crusade against their fellow Americans - against America’s gun owners. And there’ll be no mercy shown, no ‘understanding’, no ‘tolerance’ of ‘diversity’. Liberals don’t need that stuff, except to convince empty-headed Republicans to do stupid.
If you want to attract rats, you put out cheese - and you’ll have rats. Just keep those ‘weapons-free’ schools sitting out there, thousands of them, all over the country, and - never forget that it’s courtesy of the “suicide bomber’ liberals - you’re gonna sooner or later have rats show up to get the cheese.
A weapons-free zone - “build it, and they will come”.
Liberals: We sent them packing once before, after the Revolution. Time to send them packing again.
GUN CONTROL KILLS
It killed all those disarmed victims on each of the passenger jets, and all those people on the ground. It’s going to kill thousands more, if the terrs are as smart as they should be. It’s going to kill many more, maybe even someone you know, maybe even YOU, until you grab Congress by the neck and say ‘Enough!’ Get the message out: Gun control KILLS.
"SECURITY" IS DEFENSIVE
You can prevent defeat, but you cannot win wars, with security. The best offense is intelligence. Knowing where the enemy is, who he is, what he plans to do. Searching airline passengers and luggage is defensive.
So now we have a new Interior Ministry, to be called “Homeland Security”. Makes you wonder what has happened to the FBI and the military services. In World War II, the FBI took on and defeated both the Japanese and the Germans (plus the Itals). So did the War Department and the Navy. Now, 50 years later, suddenly neither is competent to handle a few thousand terrorists. We’ll have what will amount to an interior security ministry. One step closer to a banana republic, and one step closer to a police state, with 20,000 new armed sky marshals, and an unknown number of new employees of the Office of Homeland Security, most of whom, if prior experience is any guide, will soon be champing at the bit to outfit themselves in spiffy new black outfits and MP5s. No wonder, in coming months, that the geese will be honking. [Check out ccops.com for some early honks.]
THE 50-YEAR WAR
The possibility is present that the Middle Eastern ‘cycle of violence‘ is being transported to our shores. Every time they attack, we respond, and every time we respond, we create new martyrs and new militants who then strike again. In our minds, the Gulf War was ‘over’ in 1991; but in other minds, it was not, so we have been repeatedly attacked since then, until this last one has goaded a major response, which may be exactly what they wanted. We are teetering on the edge of war with the muslim world.
At least 9/11 has tilted us away from the liberal nonsense about ‘the cold war is over, we don’t need a military anymore’. This world is a most dangerous place, especially for Americans. And especially because dumbed-down Americans of today may not be able to handle the future. Again, thank the liberals. We would really be much better off if we simply ran them all out of the country, like our forebears did after the revolution. It should be no problem finding a new home for them, since they like - and take the side of - every country but the US.
But war with the muslim world is a war where you cannot clearly see the end, or how you would make it end. We could be in for some tough times in the near- and long-term future.
OCT 24 WAS "UN DAY"
Let’s not - ever! - forget that October 24 is, in this country, at least, “United Nations Day”, where we can all pause for a moment of appreciation that these hard-working, third world villains and their US liberal buddies have not gone away, but are driving hard down that road to world domination in the utterly mistaken belief that peace and freedom are one and the same.
A NEWSMAN'S OBSERVATIONS
One of the working press emails:
...I stopped by XYZ guns on way home today (9/18)...the staff [said] that before the bombing was a half hour old, [people] were banging on the door of the shop ...the store was jammed...buying every semiauto rifle and riot gun...and military ball ammo by the case...sold many ar-15 clones and Colts with no [haggling]...as soon as they could get them in...the store was just getting some more stock in today, with a few bolt hunting rifles added to their meager collection of hunting shotguns and .22s...even the older military bolt rifles were gone!...several folks in the shop this pm vowed to come back...until they found what they wanted in stock....
We have repeatedly said here that you need to be prepared. That things can happen fast, and be unexpected. That you may have to do with what you have, NOW. Some people still don’t get it. So they crowd the stores and get what they can. Well, better late than never! Hope they will get to the range and get some skill, as that will be the most important component in their protective arsenal.
Get out and vote for people who will keep those gunshops open, so you’ll have someplace to spend money, the next time they strike!
OSAMA NO FRED'S READER - AND NO RIFLEMAN
Maybe you saw that frequently-shown video of Osama in his white robe shooting a folding-stock AK in the ‘kneeling’ position. If you are a rifleman, what leapt out at you was the noticeable ‘recoil’ of the AK, that little rifle recoiling backwards a ways before contacting Ben Laden’s shoulder, indicating that Osama has not read Fred’s “Common Firing Line Errors”, specifically:
“#2 Failure to pull rifle back into shoulder. One of the leading causes of trigger jerk, bucking, and flinching is fear of recoil, and the impact of the rifle on the shoulder. Now, Osama surely did not complain about a sore shoulder, but in that video, he’s doing it wrong, and maybe that’s why you don’t get the opportunity to see his target... Osama could use a little real rifleman training, and in the process might become a real freedom fighter.

'MOM CLEANS GUN', SHOOTER HAS JAMS
It happened at the Sept RGC Rifle Shoot: an M1A shooter with frequent jams, eventually id’d as a ‘failure to clean’ problem, and the shooter was ‘jacked up’ about showing at a rifle match with a rifle so dirty it malfunctioned. For shame! The suggestion was made that maybe he relied on his mother to do both his laundry - and his rifle! Let the lesson be learned: WTSHTF, have your skills sharp - and your rifle clean.
DEC 15 - BILL OF RIGHTS DAY
It falls on a Sat this year, so while your wife is out holiday shopping, get yourself and your kids down to the range to do some shooting in celebration. Club honcho? Have a special match that day to highlight “Bill of Rights Day”. Maybe an “Isaac Davis Match”. Maybe you can do like Big Island Gun Club on Oahu, and offer a free Fred’s “Rifleman” shirt to anyone who qualifies on the 25m Army Qualification Course. The Bill of Rights: NOT JUST A PIECE OF PAPER, tho many in local, state, and federal gov act as if it has nothing to do with them. ON YOUR KNEES, THANK 'EM
Do you realize - can you appreciate - the bullet gun owners dodged when the terrs elected to NOT use firearms in their hijackings? Whether they had a choice or not, the fact that they now have the liberals - or at least the FAA - on a jihad against plastic knives (somehow the razor blades and plastic handles got merged in the bureaucratic minds at the FAA), means that you can breathe a sigh of relief.
If they had used guns, you can bet you’d be at the center of a political firestorm as the media cranks up the volume to a deafening level, broadcasting the liberal idea of ‘sensible’ gun control, making a propaganda campaign waged by Josef Goebbels look like a ‘just for fun’ practice...
You can bet that the liberals would give up ALL your gun rights in ex-change (they think) for a little more safety. Heck, they’d give up your gun rights for nothing. And they’d get nothing. Whoa! In this world, they’d get less than nothing! They’ll get more attacks, more innocents slaughtered, less security. But it’ll take more than facts from the real world to penetrate a liberal skull. That’s why you have to speak up, and out, to your reps, get your friends on board, your kids awake and alert to freedom, and knowing how to shoot like riflemen. Like you do.
THE VALUE OF A GUN
Your life in danger? A gun can be worth a lot. Desperate enough, it can be worth every worldly asset.
If you were one of the pilots or aircrew on any of those four planes on 9/11, the use of a firearm for just 5 minutes would have been worth all your worldly possessions. And I bet that the passengers would have chipped in on the deal, tool
In fact, I bet everyone on the planes, except our friends the terrs, would, once off the jet alive, have headed to their Board of Elections and switched from Dem to Rep.
You’ve heard it, it’s nearly a commonplace: “A Republican is a Demo-crat who has been mugged.” Some-times: “A conservative is a liberal who has been mugged.”
With a homemade knife slitting the throat of the guy in the seat in front of you, all that liberal stuff goes right out the window (where it belongs), and suddenly, a gun - any gun - is the most desired object on the planet. Not just the gun itself - five minutes possession of one is enough!
Makes it all the more repugnant to see some liberal democrat politician on the tube, asked about arming pilots, say, ‘I don’t think we want that. We should let the pilot concentrate on flying the plane.” Get the feeling that you want to ask Mr. Gephardt some real questions, like: if you were on one of the four planes, Mr. Gephardt, would you want the pilot to have a gun? Mr. Gephardt, how is a pilot to concentrate on flying the plane, with blood running under the door from ‘back there’, where terrs are slitting the throats of his fellow crew members, with everyone disarmed because of liberal pukes like you? Mr. Gephardt, why let other people pay the price of your beliefs? Why don’t YOU get on the next plane with some terrs, and announce you don’t want the pilot to have a gun, because YOU are looking forward to meeting Allah? (And while you’re at it, load all your fellow liberals on the same plane.) Mr. Gephardt, can you explain just how your position is the ‘sensible’ one? Just how sacrificing the lives of the passengers, the crew, and those on the ground, just because you don’t think the pilot should have a gun, is the best answer?
What next, Mr. Gephardt? Are we going to get rid of other life-saving devices, like seat cushion floatation devices? Oxygen masks? Maybe even your taxpayer-supplied armed guards? (Can see why you don’t need a gun! Can’t see why you have no pity for us.)
