Reasons YOU should join the Revolutionary War Veterans Association

Benefits
1. Put your name in for rifles offered by CMP (like the M1 Garand). But you must be a member of a CMP-affiliated club - RWVA makes it easy with our low-cost Associate Membership.
2. As a member of RWVA, you may order M14 & M1 Garand repair parts through the CMP. For a current list of parts, call the CMP Civilian Support Detachment at Port Clinton, OH (888/267-0796 or 419/635-2141).
3. Maintain eligibility to order a Garand every year - As a member of RWVA, you will be eligible to participate each year you are a member.
5. As an Associate Member of RWVA, you are part of our club's remarkable shooting program, featuring military popup targets out to 500 yards, rapidfire exciting events commemorating historical events in WW1, WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. You are invited to shoot with us - don't laugh - you never know when business or a vacation will bring you to or past our neighborhood at the right time. We can let you camp out at the range (as an associate member, you are deemed automatically tough enough to take the primitive facilities).
Military personnel (active, Guard, & Reserve), NRA-Certified Rifle & Pistol Instructors, and military veterans who served honorably can join and order an M1 Garand from CMP immediately - there is no shooting requirement. Others must fire a 50-shot CMP-approved course of fire to demonstrate an interest in marksmanship.

You may want to get one of the new RWVA Minuteman shoulder patches, a big 5 inches tall, showing the Minuteman, musket in one hand, plow in the other. Add $5 to your membership and write PATCH so you can get yours.
If you live in NC, you can join the Veterans as a shooting member. Dues are $175 per year.
There is a requirement that you shoot to Army EXPERT standards (what? You want to be a member of a club, and don't know how to shoot?)
To help you meet that standard, you shoot free in club matches until you make the EXPERT classification. That can take a week, a month, or a year. We encourage and help you become qualified as fast as possible. We also encourage you to help spread marksmanship by bringing some buddies with you.
Once you are marksmanship-qualified, you become a Probationary Member until you demostrate a strong commitment to the heritage of shooting and the promotion of marksmanship. We prefer a small club of select but dedicated members to a large club of rent-a-range members. No ringers in RWVA, only people who are truly into promoting our heritage of marksmanship. |
